Trump Praises Bret Baier as ‘Fair’ After Kamala Harris Interview

During his interview with Kamala Harris, a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2024, which took place on Wednesday evening, Donald Trump lauded Bret Baier, the main political anchor for Fox News, for doing a “great job.” He also claimed that Baier had “showed how totally incompetent Kamala is,” while simultaneously demanding that she pass a cognitive ability test.

The interview was a complete and utter failure for Harris, according to Trump, who participated in the campaign. Throughout the course of the interview, Harris and Baier engaged in a number of back and

forths. At one point, while discussing immigration, Harris clapped back at Baier when he stopped her and said, “May I finish responding to you?”

Almost immediately after the interview was broadcast, the campaign, particularly the strategists Stephen Miller and Steven Cheung, went to X to criticize the replies that Harris had provided.

Trump followed up on Wednesday night by posting a message on Truth Social. This came after he had attended a town hall meeting arranged by Univision Noticias, where he spoke with a group of Latino voters who were still uncertain.

“Bret Baier did an excellent job in his interview with Lyin’ Kamala Harris,” one of the past presidents stated in his letter.

Following this, Trump boasted that Harris had “a massive and irredeemable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME,” claiming that she has spent the majority of her time talking about him.

“So bad, in fact, that she is barely able to talk about any subject other than the man who had the best economy ever, the strongest border in history, and who just got the unanimous ENDORSEMENT that the United States Border Patrol has given to me!”

Following a few more remarks about Harris, during which he referred to her as the “worst Vice President in history” and said that she “hopefully will soon be GONE,” Trump then shifted his discourse to once again extend his congratulations to Baier.

Congratulations, Bret Baier, on conducting a challenging but very fair interview. This interview made it abundantly clear that Kamala is completely and utterly incompetent. It is imperative that her subpar cognitive abilities be evaluated as soon as possible for the sake of our nation.

The Harris campaign was adamantly opposed to the idea. “We definitely achieved what we set out to achieve,” said Brian Fallon, a spokesman for the Harris campaign, in an interview with Reuters.

“She was able to reach an audience that is probably not exposed to the arguments she’s been making on the trail, and she also got to show her toughness by standing tall against a hostile interviewer,” Fallon said. “We definitely achieved what we set out to achieve.”

Fallon continued by saying, “I believe that there is a good number of Independents and Republicans who are very open to voting for Vice President Harris, and that is the reason why we are open to doing events with Republicans on Fox News.”

As for Baier, he defended his aggressive manner of questioning on Fox Wednesday night, stating that he could see immediately that Harris “was going to be tough to redirect without me trying to interrupt.” Baier’s comments were made in response to a question posed by Harris. In addition, Harris arrived late to the interview, as he said.
During an interview with Mark Levin, a conservative celebrity, Baier elaborated on the situation by stating, “There was a slight bit of frustration” and that “I had so much stuff to get to.”

“I was hoping it was going to be this civil back-and-forth, but it was good for her to come on, and I think she should do more of them, but I was just trying to get through the talking points, and it took a while, and it was a little bit of, you know, interrupting, and kind of getting in on the breath.”

Baier made the suggestion that “they wanted a viral moment,” while reiterating that his initial time was allegedly cut short by the Harris campaign and that Harris was late.

“My expectation was that it would go in the manner that I had envisioned, which was more along the lines of a discussion about various subjects. I would argue with you, but I would do it in a courteous manner. We might say something like, “You have differences; this is where I am.” In addition, I have participated in a great number of those interviews in which it is quite beneficial to have a back and forth, in which you get some place, and in which you truly learn something about policy and where they are.

Then I had the thought that it may be the other way around. It is possible that this is intended to be a viral moment, and in essence, this is rehearsal for a discussion. As a result, I need to be able to get as many of my questions out as I can in a manner that is courteous but firm, and I hope that she will return when she is in a different, more chatty mood so that we may learn more.
